High School Equivalency: Resource Guide for the Workforce System

The content and process for obtaining high school equivalency (HSE) credentials have changed significantly. These changes, many of which are ongoing, have profound implications for persons seeking a high school equivalency credential as well as for the national workforce system, which promotes, delivers, or connects with the options for equivalency. Precipitated by the 2014 changes in the test of General Educational Development (GED®), including major adjustments in test management, content, cost, and test administration, the national and state-by-state landscape for high school equivalency now includes a growing number of alternative HSE options. Developed to provide current information and resources about the options for high school equivalency to individuals employed within the national workforce system, this Resource Guide provides basic information about High School Equivalency to support those working with youth who do not have high school diplomas and are eligible to be served under WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act).  View the resource guide here.
